Alice Springs town song to play in public toilets

The Alice Springs Town Council has moved to make public toilet experiences more pleasant – with music. Two public toilet cubicles near the Hartley Street carpark have been fitted out with a sound system that automatically plays the town song by local artist Dave Ezard. From this week, as those called by nature enter two public urinals, shut the door and start their business, they will be serenaded by the town song. Council’s chief executive officer Rex Mooney says this is good way to add another dimension to a visit to the local amenity. But visitors will not be able to experience the tunes for too long because there is a 10-minute time limit on the automatic toilets. That is when the song stops and the doors open.

A very wise woman once told me that life is about the story we tell at the end of the chapter. If statistics are to be believed, I’m closer to the end of my life than the beginning. I’ve quit the race to see who can have the office with best view or the most impressive job title. I’ve made peace with the fact there are some of my early dreams/goals that will never be realized. I love who I am and the women I have become AND boy do I have stories to tell!
