Slightly out of order – Down Under Adventure Day 8

Writer's picture: PaulaPaula

Today we woke up and played another brutal 9 holes of golf before heading for Ayers Rock at about 11:30 a.m..

The drive was really pretty boring. There is absolutely nothing to look at, and I mean nothing besides sand and occasional road kill, but at 85 M.P.H., the drive seemed to go quick. We arrived around 4 p.m. after one right turn.

We watched the Rock change colors as the sun set and were scheduled to go on a star watch/night sky program but it turns out there were too many clouds in the sky to look at the stars. So we ate dinner and wondered around the resort for a while before heading to bed.

A very wise woman once told me that life is about the story we tell at the end of the chapter. If statistics are to be believed, I’m closer to the end of my life than the beginning. I’ve quit the race to see who can have the office with best view or the most impressive job title. I’ve made peace with the fact there are some of my early dreams/goals that will never be realized. I love who I am and the women I have become AND boy do I have stories to tell!
