Ponies Exploring the Dales

Today Dennis and I went out for a drive and we took the pretty ponies along. We hiked to the top of the Coldstone Cut and showed the pony how far they had traveled from Illinois.

The Coldstones Cut is a piece of public art on a monumental scale. It was created by Andrew Sabin as a cultural response to Coldstones Quarry. From an array of platforms visitors can view the vast quarry hole, limestone quarrying operation and sweeping panoramas across the North Yorkshire Dales

An ariel view of the Coldstone Cut. On a clear day, you can see nearly the stacks of a power plane that is over 30 miles away.

This intriguing piece of arts sits on the edge of a working stone quarry.

As well as feeding my assistant copious amounts of snacks, I encourage his need for silliness. The camera and I stood still with my finger on the trigger, he jumped up and down.
