Just in case you were concerned about the croc……

Expert says croc man-eater shouldn’t die

A crocodile expert says a reptile believed to have taken a man in far north Queensland should not be killed.

Arthur Booker, 62, has been missing for two weeks since checking crab pots on the Endeavour River. Yesterday, police said tests confirmed that material taken from a 4.5 metre crocodile caught on the river is male human remains.

Gary Zeillfeisch, the former owner of Hartley’s Creek wildlife reserve near Cairns, says the crocodile should be sent to a farm or zoo. “Killing the animal is out of the question, it’s nature and it’s unfortunate that somebody becomes a victim,” he said (It is a little hard to fault a crocodile for having a feed -pw). “To take it out on the crocodile by killing it is just not on. Police say more DNA testing is needed to confirm if the remains are of Mr Booker.
