It was all for good cause!

Writer: PaulaPaula

Remember what I’ve said before about American’s being sort of uptight and

inhibited compared to Australians? Well if you’re uptight about human anatomy, specifically female breasts, you should not attend the women’s golf tournament to support breast cancer. Boobs are definitely the theme of the day.

Over 50 teams took part and although it’s called a golf tournament, the day isn’t about golf. The event raises money for the support of Alice Springs area breast cancer patients, the day is really about women letting their hair down and having a GOOD time.

Everybody really gets in the spirit with team names, costumes and even decorated carts. Every hole had some sort of contest and or sponsored food and cocktails. We were treated to things like steak sandwiches, chocolate fountain, cosmopolitan martinis and champagne. I think we spent more time eating and drinking than hitting golf balls!

Our team had a split personality. Two of our team members are serious girly girls and two of us are country girls at heart. So we played off that theme for our team name; we called ourselves “Titties from the City and Boobies from the Bush”. Wipe that “Oh Dear” look off your American face. We were by-far one of the more tame teams for name and costume.

I told you!

I won’t share too many details, let’s just say a good time was had by all and Dave picked up us at the end of the day and got everyone home safely!

A very wise woman once told me that life is about the story we tell at the end of the chapter. If statistics are to be believed, I’m closer to the end of my life than the beginning. I’ve quit the race to see who can have the office with best view or the most impressive job title. I’ve made peace with the fact there are some of my early dreams/goals that will never be realized. I love who I am and the women I have become AND boy do I have stories to tell!
